Midea Washing Machine Industrial Park broke ground on the morning of March 18. This is another major home appliance project in Jingzhou after Midea Refrigerator Jingzhou Industrial Park with a total investment of 3 billion yuan broke ground on February 3.

Zhou Zhihong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee and Mayor of the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government, attended the cornerstone laying ceremony and announced the commencement of the project. Zhao Lei, President of Midea's Washing Machine Business Unit, addressed the ceremony. Present were Duan Changlin, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Jingzhou Municipal People's Congress; Wang Shouwei, Chairman of the CPPCC Jingzhou Municipal Committee; Xiang Bin, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee and Executive Vice Mayor of the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government; Zhang Yuanmei, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee, Member of the Party Leadership Group of the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government and First Secretary of the Party Work Committee of Jingzhou Economic & Technological Development Zone (JETDZ); and Yang Yunchun, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Secretary General of the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government.

Midea Washing Machine Jingzhou Industrial Park is the largest new investment project of Midea's Washing Machine Business Unit in a decade, said Zhao. The practical cooperation between Midea and Jingzhou over the years, as well as Jingzhou's favorable policies, good business environment and efficient services have been of great help to the settlement of the project and boosted Midea's confidence in increasing investment.

Xiang extended congratulations on the commencement of the project on behalf of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee and the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government, expressing gratitude to Midea for its permanent attention and support to Jingzhou's development. The CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee and the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government will further emancipate mind, change working modes, improve service quality and efficiency, and serve the enterprise whenever needed, to create a better business environment for the development of Midea and its suppliers.

At the ceremony, 8 suppliers of Midea Washing Machine signed agreements with JETDZ on behalf of the first 19 enterprises to move into the park. Nearly 50 more will move in afterwards.

In the coming three to five years, Midea will build up the world's largest refrigerator manufacturing base and an intelligent washing machine manufacturing base with a total annual output value of 50 billion yuan.
